A community for large-scale network analysis
In today’s interconnected world, society is shaped by social, economic, technological, and infrastructural networks. PLANET-NL is a research infrastructure and academic community devoted to the large-scale analysis of these networks. It brings together researchers and practitioners by providing software, expertise, tools, and opportunities for collaboration.
Interdisciplinary angle
The field of network science draws on mathematics, sociology, computer science, and physics, and PLANET-NL strengthens this interdisciplinary exchange. Rooted in computational social science, it fosters a community where ideas, data, and methods can be shared. To support this work, PLANET-NL develops a free and open-source software toolkit designed for efficient analysis at scale.
Expertise
PLANET-NL also serves as a hub of data expertise, covering a wide range of sources from population registers to financial and corporate information. Its team has extensive experience in building the hardware, software, and infrastructure needed for advanced network research, and actively collaborates with scholars across disciplines.
